Benefits of UV Protection Window Films for DFW Homes & Businesses

Using UV protection window films benefits homes and businesses in several ways.

  • Helps protect occupants from the harmful effects of UV rays.
  • Helps protect your home’s interior, including art, wood floors, and furnishings, from fading.

How UV Protection Films Preserve Interiors & Prevent Fading

UV rays can damage the interiors of homes, such as causing wood floors, furnishings, and art to fade. UV rays can damage wood by breaking down its natural polymers: cellulose and lignin. These polymers are the reason for wood’s structural integrity and strength. UV protection films protect home interiors from the harmful effects of UV rays by blocking them from entering.

Our UV Protection Film Installation Process for Lasting Results

We follow specific steps during the installation process so your UV protection window film goes on correctly.

  1. We place a covering on your floor to keep the soap and water mixture we use off of it.
  2. We prepare the window for the film by cleaning it using either a scraper or a scrounge pad (depending on which works best on the glass).
  3. We remove the UV protection film from the box and cut close to how it will fit in the window. The UV protection film’s liner is peeled off. We then wet the adhesive to activate it with the soap and water mixture.
  4. We apply the UV protection film to the glass, ensuring we cover all the areas. When it’s on, we begin to squeegee the soapy water out of it.
  5. Once 90% of the water is removed from the film, and it is securely in position, we’ll trim it for an exact fit.
  6. Finally, we’ll dry the edges and wipe the window.
  7. The newly installed UV protective film has a curing process and may take as many as 30 days to completely dry. Occasionally, water blisters may form, but they’ll go away after a while.
