Glare Reducing Film Installation Process

Pro Films Window Tinting is dedicated to supplying and installing the highest-quality window films on the market. Our technicians install our glare-reducing film using our specialized process to protect our clients’ investment while protecting their property.

Every installation process is started by placing a protective cover on the floors to protect damage or fading due to the chemicals used to clean the windows and install the films. We then prepare the surface by cleaning it, removing any leftover dirt or grime from the window to ensure that nothing gets trapped between the glass and the film. Once our team has fitted the film firmly on the window, we hand cut it to the exact dimensions of your window to remove any gaps.

When the film is firmly in place and the excess moisture removed, the film then goes through the curing process. This will last about 30 days. During this process, small water bubbles may appear. This is to be expected and will resolve on its own as the curing process continues. As always, if you have any concerns during the installation process, our experts will be more than happy to speak with you and put your mind at ease. FAQs About Glare Reducing Window Films

How do glare-reducing window films work?

Glare-reducing window film is made of hundreds of microscopic layers of plastic film. This film reflects some light frequencies while others are allowed through. This allows some light while at the same time preventing an excessive amount from coming through.

Can glare-reducing films help save on energy costs?

Yes! Glare-reducing films can save you money on energy bills.

Are glare-reducing films suitable for all types of windows?

While glare-reducing film works on a range of windows, some windows aren’t generally suitable for window film.
These include but aren’t limited to the following:

1. Glass that is cracked or damaged in some way
2. Glass in particular types of frames, including solid steel, solid aluminum, and concrete
3. Nonstandard glass, including textured, wired, patterned, reflective, or laminated glass
4. Single pane glass larger than 100 square feet or double pane glass larger than 40 square feet
5. Clear glass with a thickness of more than three-eighths of an inch and tinted glass with a thickness of more than one-quarter inch

How long does glare-reducing window film installation take?

While the installation process can vary based on several factors, the installation process can take roughly 30 to 45 minutes or even as quickly as 15 minutes per window. Please note that this does not include set-up time.
